Award Winning Bridge over the Ohio River
4009 feet long, this magnificent structure is the longest in West Virginia.
The arch structure its self is 900 feet long and the project cost totaled $135 million. The opening of the bridge completes a 200 mile section of Corridor D between Cincinnati and Clarksburg. This completes an eleven mile section that connects US 50 in Wood County West Virginia with US 50 in Washington County Ohio.
Winner of the Gustav Lindenthal Medal for outstanding engineering that demonstrates technical and material innovation, aesthetic merit and harmony with the environment, the Blennerhassett Island Bridge has inspired residents of both West Virginia and Ohio to speculate about future growth in the area as millions of people pass through each year.
